Aspen & Kyle | Engaged! | Lawrence Kansas Photographer
Aspen & Kyle
How we met: We do know that we met at Redrock Canyon Grill which is where I was working and Kyle had just gotten a job. We were introduced through a mutual friend and quickly became friends, but it wasn’t for several months that we discovered the feeling were mutual on both ends.
How Kyle asked: I had just graduated with my bachelor’s degree from Wichita state and as a present we (My mom, Kyle, me, and my aunt) were headed to Isla Muejeres Mexico for a beautiful vacation. The day of travel was about as bad as it could be- 2 missed flights, lost luggage, and stranded in Mexico City at 2am. My mom had the ring and Kyle had added stress. We finally make it to the island at 4 am with nothing!
The next day we spent the whole day relaxing and that evening our luggage finally arrived and Kyle and I took a walk on the beach. We walked around the end of the of the island to a rock cliff over looking the gulf of Mexico when he asked me to take a picture. I turn around and he was on one knee.
He didn’t have the ring out quite yet so I assumed it was a joke. Until he reached into his pocket and showed me the real thing! Clearly I said yes. We walked back to the hotel where he and my aunt had arranged a candle light dinner on the beach complete with tiki torches, rose petals, and champagne. To this day I think my mom was more excited than I was!
Kyle’s favorite things about Aspen: She’s very independent and has no problem controlling her own destiny. She very much complements my wild side in that she is very responsible and is very committed to her goals in her life. She always sticks to her roots and doesn’t change for anyone. She inspires me to be a better person. She loves beer as much as I do! She takes care of me. #WifeyMaterial
Aspen’s favorite things about Kyle: Obviously you saw his eyes! (those things are as blue as the ocean!) He’s everything that I’m not. He’s wild, young, and fun. He makes me get out of the house and see the city. We are very much ying and yang. He’s extremely supportive with my school and everything that I do. He moved to KC just to be with me while I’m in school and has taken on the responsibility of supporting the both of us. He has the biggest heart (most of the time) and fits into my large family so well, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Oh and lastly he does the dishes all the time because he knows that I don’t like to do them!
