Taryn & Zach
How did you first meet?
I (Zach) pestered our one mutual friend to introduce me. This friend kept telling me, “but she has a boyfriend, she has a boyfriend,” and would never introduce me. Finally, after like 2 years of this nonsense, Taryn was finally single and she was going to be in Manhattan for her 21st birthday celebration. Our mutual friend told me this. I was excited but I had a final that very morning in Lawrence, and wasn’t sure I wanted to do anything other than sleep after spending the previous month in the library studying. In the end, I decided I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to finally meet her. And thankfully so!
Favorite thing about Taryn? Zach?
I love that Zach gives zero cares about what anyone thinks of him. For me it means we’re always having fun wherever we are.
I love how easy-going and accepting Taryn is. I’ve never heard her say a mean thing about anybody and it’s refreshing to spend so much time with someone who possesses such a positive outlook.
When did you know he / she was the one? Was there something he / she did?
We’ve kind of been together since the day we met. I think we’re the perfect balance of being very alike and very different because it’s always been so easy and fun but also meaningful. We just both always kinda knew.
Best thing about your wedding day?
Seeing Zach for the first time as my parents walked me down the aisle. It was such a rush of emotions and I felt so much love and support from everyone there.
I don’t want to sound cliché, but I was overrun with emotion the first time I saw Taryn that day. We didn’t see each other the entire day, so that first time seeing her was incredible.
In all my years as a wedding photographer, I have never seen a couple plant a tree as a unity ceremony. I can’t tell you how much I love this idea, you can literally see love GROW!
